Melbourne Guitar Repair specialises in the service, repair, setup, and modification of stringed instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, basses, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, and resonator guitars. We offer a wide range of services, from basic setups and fret dressing to refrets, bone nuts & saddles, custom electronics and body repairs.

One of our most popular services is the full basic setup & service, which is comprehensive and carried out with great attention to detail: we make all the necessary adjustments,  clean and check your electronics, clean & condition the fretboard, inspect for loose screws or unwanted vibrations, polish your frets, adjust nut slots, intonate and radius your bridge & saddles, adjust pickup height and give your instrument a full clean and polish. We also properly stretch your strings in, so your instrument is performance-ready as soon as you pick it up.

If you find that your instrument needs a post-service tweak shortly after collection, just bring it back, we’ll make minor adjustments free of charge (which can often be done on the spot.)
